Heart Made Whole by Christa Black Gifford is a beautiful story of the healing of a mothers heart when she has lost her sweet baby. I found great encouragement in this one.
Mending Tomorrow by Alyssa Quilala is a beautiful story of a mothers loss and the community that surrounded them when they were hoping the outcome would change.
Grieving the Child I Never Knew: A Devotional for Comfort in the Loss of Your Unborn or Newly Born Baby by Kathe Wunneberg is by a mother who used her own journey of grief and sorrow from three miscarriages and the loss of an infant to create something to help mothers whose hearts are broken.
Empty Arms: Hope and Support for Those Who Have Suffered a Miscarriage, Stillbirth or Tubal Pregnancy by Pam Vredevelt is by a counselor who uses her personal experiences and scripture to guide you through the journey to healing.

Silent Grief: Hope for Surviving Early Miscarriage is a great book for those who have struggled with whether they have a right to grieve. “From the moment God breathed life into your baby, He also gave you the right to mourn the death of that same baby.” (quote from Silent Grief)
Grace Like Scarlett: Grieving with Hope after Miscarriage and Loss is a book that I am excited to read! I just ordered it, but I love the author’s site and feel it will be a wonderful resource!
Support Groups
Compassionate Friends is a group that offers online and telephone support. They also have local chapters and bereavement packets that they can email to you.
Organizations
There are multiple organizations that do kind things for mother’s who have lost their babies. I will give a few options here…
Held Your Whole Life – offers jewelry for bereaved families with the words “Held Your Whole Life”. They offer a monthly code for bereaved families to request one necklace and keychain free of charge with only the shipping costs. Find the info at the link for requesting a free gift.
While We’re Waiting – offers a free Hope package to families that just recently experienced loss. Mama’s, do not feel bad for filling this out for yourself! I received a box and was SO pleased with what was included!
Joy Comes in the Morning – is a letter ministry that sends letters for 3 months after the miscarriage and then at the one year anniversary. I believe this will be so encouraging!
The Seashore of Remembrance offers sunset photos with the loved one’s name written in the sand…this is a neat project but does seem to have incredibly long wait times so make sure you are ok with that. The artwork is just stunning though!
A Thread Runs Through It is an amazing Etsy shop that creates memorial ornaments and items to your specifications that are a beautiful way to remember your sweet baby. She stays busy, so give her time to get on her list.
Glory Baby Ministry is a non-profit that sends gifts to mothers that includes a teddy bear, blanket and other items to help them hold on when they have left the hospital empty-handed.
Podcasts
Through the Lens Podcast is by Holly Colonna & Kristin Hernandez describe their ministry as Gospel-driven conversations on hope in the heartache, where two child-loss mamas discuss suffering and sanctification.
The Joyful Mourning – A Podcast for Women Who Have Experienced Pregnancy or Infant Loss is by Ashlee Profitt and has greatly encouraged me since I lost our Lily.
Managing Miscarriage by Melissa Whitmann is a wonderful place to hear other Mother’s stories and to find hope and healing.
Sisters in Loss Podcast: Miscarriage, Pregnancy Loss, & Infertility Stories by Erica McAfee spotlights faith-filled black women who share their grief and loss stories and testimonies. Black women experience miscarriage and stillbirth two times more than white women according to the National Institutes of Health.
Stillbirth Matters by Star Legacy Corporation shares interviews with families and experts who share the same passion for preventing stillbirth.
Remembrances
National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day is observed annually in the United States on October 15. It is a day of remembrance for pregnancy loss and infant death which includes, but is not limited to, miscarriage, stillbirth, SIDS or the death of a newborn. Use #PregnancyAndInfantLossRemembranceDay to post on social media.
The Morning just recently released some wonderful resources to help families plan a memorial service for their baby. If you find yourself in this place, this would be a great resource to start with.
